the shatter of earth's collapse

"Hello sweetie."

Not that anyone will actually see this, but you might or might not have gotten the reference above...anyway. Please do note that this online journal has been fighting the battle of neglect and time, often on the losing end, and really does feel like some sort of blue elephant that one's got to keep somewhat alive. For the sake of tradition, I suppose.

feminism, anthropology, exams et al. (very strange company indeed.)

Hello.
idek popped by (yes, my own blog!) and thought I should post something instead of leaving it at emo stages lol.
Doing anthro notes now you have no idea how bloody brilliant and lovely this subject is i feel like an improper nerd when i rant to my mirror hell i even cried when the best teacher (ever) for anthropology came in and gave a class this subject is so perf well we'll see how the exam goes and being very distracted with atheists on twitter and aspiring feminists vs the despicable males on tumblr. (or rather, rant against society's male ideals/stereotypes and how this is fed through mass media. but yeah.)
I'm all for gender equality -- which, by the way, is what feminism advocates; equal rights for women -- but it's not achieved by arguing against the "superior" gender. For the "inferior" gender, yes. (i mean, face it. History and perceptions haven't changed completely.) Fighting against/dominating the "superior" gender would create an even wider gap between the 'ideals' of either gender (and i'll just call it 'ideals' for now because the proper word escapes me), and gender equality for me is pretty much reducing discrimination and disparity to the physical/biological anatomy of human bodies.

Aaand i lost that post. Which makes me not a very happy person, but bad pasta for lunch did it already so /shrugs/.

Reading Laurie L. Klinger's The Beekeeper's Apprentice now. Prolly sounds posh/cheesy, but its Sherlockian (;)) (despite what the author claims.) and very very wonderful fanfiction borne in hardcover, a strange font, and a very interesting disposition of the protagonist. (Mary Russell, young Edwardian female and apprentice to Sherlock Holmes. ;)) Frankly speaking, there are only two ways to go with this: love letters to Sherlock Holmes (through a 15 year old good enough to get close to him) (which is prolly what i'll do. and get sent to the pits of fanfiction.com), and toying with him (in his retirement). Which is what this does, and under quite a good hand, too.

okay i better go
